Merry Christmas
Another good year here in the valley – no fires! – and lots of skiing (on our new skis), golf, and motorbike trips. We celebrated the 10th anniversary of our move to Kelowna and the start of construction of our house. This year saw the addition of a paved driveway (all 400 metres), some art installations, an equipment shelter, some shoji doors and cabinets in the guest bedroom, and motorized shades for the porch (click on photo to enlarge).
Apart from that, David has been busy with two non-profit Boards and a regional advisory planning board, and spends a lot of time managing the forest. Mizuho has been golfing up a storm, wowing guests with her culinary masterpieces, and spending quality time and walks with the always delightful Taisho.
We had 3 weeks of déjà vu in France in the spring which included piloting a boat down the Canal du Midi for 10 days with two friends. Dave had a
few bike trips to the Kootenays and Montana and bought another old bike (less fun but more comfortable – not sure which one he will keep) and drove out to Saskatchewan to see his favorite Aunt who turned 100 this year. Mizuho spent a month in Japan hanging out with her mother and sister and enjoying the delights of Tokyo while David joined her for a few weeks to explore Shikoku Island and favorite new and old haunts in Tokyo.
