Season’s Greetings

Merry Christmas!

Apart from the forest fire on the road below us, and the raging dumpster fire to the south of us, we had another fun year filled with skiing, social golf, concerts, dining and motorbike camping trips.  Made 900 sausages with a neighbor and friend, helped harvested his grapes (6,000 litres of wine worth), and enjoyed visits from several cousins, friends from Japan, and Mizuho’s mother and sister!  This year saw the addition of another cabinet (drawer fronts to come) inside and more steps, a trellis, two walkways and some yard art outside.

Taisho continues to delight – he scared away a curious bear and dispatched a marmot.  The forest fire had us evacuated as a precaution but was quickly extinguished by 4 fire departments, 2 helicopters and 2 water bombers.

Paris again, coupled with a few weeks in southern Spain and a week in Lyon.  August saw us in Canmore and Banff, enjoying our first Banff International String Quartet Competition.  October took us to NYC for a few days, then across the Atlantic with some friends on the QM II, followed by a delightful stay with friends (now the Italian Ambassador to the UK) from our time in Paris.

We hope all is well in your world and to see you somewhere sometime in the new year.

David, Mizuho and Taisho
