Despite 2020 having been, as the Queen would say, an annus horribilis, including cancelled trips to France and Japan and many cancelled concerts and social outings, we have had a pretty good year. After we started the year off with a Polar Bear Swim, Dave taught another course at UBCO, a seminar on International Relations, and shared his views on Canadian foreign policy via op/eds and interviews. We started cross-country skiing, to complement the snowshoeing, and found time for lots of wine tours and tastings, motorcycle touring and camping (Dave not Mizuho), golfing and a bit of kayaking. And Taisho continues to delight daily.
House projects proceeded – building cabinets, cedar benches, doors, a gate for the driveway, and a covered lumber rack. Also made a rose garden with another patio, planted some bushes, a few maple trees, lots of lavender and 100+ spruce and pine seedlings. We paved the area in front of the garage! And Dave finally started to build the newel posts and railings for the stairs! Details at hill.daihime.com
We hope you and yours are well and that we will have the chance to get together next year which we expect will be an annus mirabilis.
