2019 – Still having fun on the mountain. Enjoying our new puppy Taisho and took him on a 2 week road trip through Alberta and Saskatchewan visiting sights and relatives.
Also had two delightful overseas trips. Japan in April was all about friends, family, flowers and hot springs. The UK (and Austria) in Sept/Oct was driving around the Cotswold countryside, visiting a long-lost uncle, going to museums, galleries, and the opera. Austria was Vienne fest (beer and oompah-pah bands) and excellent music, museums, architecture and coffee and pastries. Dave also had several bike trips, including bike camping to eastern Washington State and a camping/kayaking trip to the West Kootanays.
On the house front, we built some planters and had a good crop of veggies, did a bunch of work outside cleaning up the switchback, terracing the yard, and mulching up huge piles of deadfall and branches. Also found time to install more cabinet doors and build some shoji doors for the front entrance. Our neighbors from Ottawa moved to Kelowna and stayed with us while awaiting possession of their house. He was great in completing the cabinets and doors in the kitchen and building the doors for the front closet. Details at hill.daihime.com
